Clare B. Connaughton, Esq.
Of CounselClare Connaughton has more than 25 years of experience in civil litigation, mediation, and in more recent years, corporate training and mediation of business dissolution proceedings and domestic partnerships. Since 1997, Ms. Connaughton has been a consultant to the United States Agency for International Development, (USAID) the International Labor Organization and the Organization for American States (OAS). She is frequently deployed as an ADR Expert to Latin America where she designs and conducts training programs in conflict management, mediation and conciliation. She combines her many years of trial litigation experience with the insight and communication skills of a focused negotiator. She has trained lawyers, prosecutors, judges, union leaders and police in the art and science of negotiation and has been instrumental in promoting mediation as an alternative to litigation.

Ms. Connaughton has served as a consultant to New York University and Columbia University and has conducted programs in conjunction with the New York City Board of Education and the United Nations. She graduated from the Columbia University Center for Conflict Resolution in 1996 and has been a Member of the Mediation Panel of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York since 1997.
Presentations
Ms. Connaughton has been a frequent presenter to both business and academic organizations in the U.S. and abroad, on the topics of Negotiation Skills and the Mediation process and the management of conflicts in the workplace. She has given programs for judges, prosecutors and defense attorneys, including a continuing education for lawyers at Touro Law School.
