Robert D. Argen, Esq.

​Robert D. Argen represents clients in all stages of complex commercial, construction, and real estate disputes in federal and state court, mediation, and arbitration. He also represents property owners and real estate management companies in administrative proceedings. He provides practical business-oriented advice and takes pride in clearly explaining legal concepts and remedies to clients, enabling them to make well-informed business decisions.

Robert also has significant transactional and intellectual property experience negotiating technology, fintech, software-as-a-service, and professional service agreements.  He is prepared to support the general counsel needs of early stage and institutional clients alike, having worked closely with finance, technology, data privacy, and procurement professionals.  Prior to joining John E. Osborn P.C. from a Vault Top 10 Best Midsize Law Firm in New York, Robert worked on secondment as in-house IP Counsel in the Legal Department of a global investment bank for eighteen months.
Robert is an active member of the Arbitration Committee of the New York City Bar Association. He serves as coordinator of the City Bar’s annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Pre-Moot.
During law school, Robert served as Judicial Intern to Judge Debra Freeman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and Executive Notes & Comments Editor of the Brooklyn Journal of International Law. He was also a fellow in the Dennis J. Block Center for the Study of International Business Law and a member of the Moot Court Honor Society.
