Robert E. Tompkins, Ph.D., Chief
Chief Operating Officer

Robert E. Tompkins received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology from Southhampton College of Long Island University in 1974, a Masters of Science in Geology from the University of South Florida in 1976, and a Ph.D. in Geochemisty from Texas A&M University in 1980.

Prior to joining John E. Osborn P.C. in 2003, Dr. Tompkins served as General Projects Manager and Manager of Regional Studies of Resources, Inc., a Houston-based company engaged in oil exploration and production (1978 to 1988). In 1988 Dr. Tompkins founded Scientific Laboratories ("SciLab") and was its President and Chief Operating Officer. He grew the company to become a $20 million international environmental laboratory business before he left in 2001. In the early 1990s, SciLab was the premier, "true" 24/7 New York City environmental lab that set the stage for all others to follow.

Dr. Tompkins played a lead role during 2001 and 2002 as Vice President of Process Science for Isolagen, Inc., an AMEX biotech company, where he coordinated the design of the company's facilities in Houston, London and Sydney, Australia. He also set strategy for the unconditioned release of a two-year-old FDA clinical hold condition, which allowed the company to expedite its domestic clinical trials and international business development.

As Chief Operating Officer of John E. Osborn, P.C., Dr. Tompkins oversees the overall management of the law firm.
