Professional Experience

Clare B. Connaughton has more than 20 years of experience in mediation, conflict management, litigation and training.  Ms. Connaughton is a consultant to United States Agency for International Development, (USAID) where she is deployed as an ADR Expert to Latin America where she designs and conducts training programs in conflict management, mediation and conciliation.  She has trained lawyers, prosecutors, judges and police and has been implemental in promoting mediation as an alternative to litigation. 

 

Ms. Connaughton has served as a consultant to New York University and Columbia University, conducting conflict management training programs in conjunction with the New York City Board of Education and the United Nations. Ms. Connaughton teaches Basic Mediation Skills to lawyers in conjunction with their continuing legal education requirements and is a federal mediator with the United States District Court in New York.
